Certified Food
Protection Manager 


The Certified Food Protection Manager course (CFPM) educates managers and staff according to the FDA Food Code. Learning these concepts will help control the cost and risk associated with foodborne illness and provide important preventative measures for keeping food safe.

This course is offered in two formats: instructor-led (classroom and private instruction) and online.

*A certified proctor is needed to administer the test for all online manager courses. Please contact Safe Food 101 for proctoring fees.

Food Handler


Learn the basics of food safety, personal hygiene, cross-contamination, time and temperature, cleaning and sanitation and more. The food handler course is an Internet-based course that takes a couple of hours and your Food Handler Card can be downloaded after successfully completing the online exam. This Food Handler Course is ASI approved and meets the requirements set forth by the State of Illinois for safe food handling.

Allergen Awareness

Learn about what a food allergy is, symptoms of an allergic reaction, major food allergens, preventing cross-contact, proper cleaning, and more.  This ANSI accredited course was designed to be highly flexible, allowing you to train on your schedule. Upon successful completion of the course, you will earn a certificate that is valid for 3 years. Required by the Illinois Department of Health for all Food Safety Managers within 30 days after employment.
